"Brother."
Kcalb groaned. He knew this tone. Without looking at
Wodahs, devil would say, he was going to hear something he doesn't like.
So he just didn't turn away, keeping in silence and
pretend nothing special was happened. That was true anyway, yes?
He heard gasped. Was able to felt, that Wodahs was
staring at him. That feeling made him irritated.
"What?", asked, just given up.
"Nothing at all. I just… thinking", said
calmly an angel.
Kcalb looked at him with doubt.
"Really?"
"Really."
So what was a point? He had no idea, but didn't care.
If Wodahs stepped back from the thing he was planned, that was good. Anyway…
"Did you thought about Valentine's Day yet?"
The devil tensed. What the fu…?
"What?"
"You know, the Valentine's Day. That funny love
tradition from humans world and…" Wodahs slowly held his hands up, like he
was surrendering. "I'm just asking, you know… Etihw seems to like that
kind of stuff."
"Did she asked you to say that?"
"Of course not! I…"
But Kcalb didn't want to hear that. He just stepped
ahead, directly to the exit.
Oh, no. Not this time. He didn't want to be part of a
game made by a goddess. She liked it? Of course. Or rather, she liked to
observe his embarrassment, while he was trying to make a peace with feelings.
Who need this anyway? Everything was much easier, if
you hadn't dealt with stupid things. Kcalb wanted just a moment of peace,
nothing more.
And Etihw… She'll not be offending, if he will not celebrate
with her some stupid holiday, wouldn't she?
Or she would…?
~*~
He was
standing in the middle of nowhere… Or rather, one of many meadows, full of
various flowers. Stared at them with doubt, he started to think he was doomed.
Flowers. It seemed to be so stupid. There were plenty
of flowers everywhere. Oh, he was sure Etihw was a creator of more of them. His
brother was right: she loved stuffs like this. And he should be a person who
know her best, but now…
Eh, how did this happen?
In the first moment, Kcalb thought about flowers near
the palace, but that hadn't any sense. She could watch them whenever she wants.
She didn't need a bouquet of them in their chamber. He needed to figure out
something else. What did he…?
"Hiiiii, old m'n!"
Oh, for a god sake…
He turned to Yosafire. The female demon looked cheer
as always. She ran to him, full of energy proper for someone that young and
innocence. Her green hairs jumped in every step. Kcalb was looking at her
without interest, but somehow… she always made him calmly. From that day.
Then he realized what she had with herself and
something come to his mind.
"You're a woman", he said without thinking.
"I-I guess so?", answered she with
surprising. "Gee, thanks".
He ignored that reaction, still watching the flowers
which the demon was bringing. Various, colorful and fresh. Seemed she was
collected them in meadows, for sure without thinking about their name or
meaning. And she looked happy as a child, what was nothing special in case that
girl, but…
"Is something happen?"
Devil blinked. Yosafire was looking at him with
curiosity. She kept smiling, but her face had a strange expression.
Indeed. His question seemed to be unusal.
"You... like flowers, don't you?"
"Flowers are nice. And there are so many…",
she said with her singing voice. "Why?"
"No reason. It's just…"
But Yosafire understood.
"Ooooh…"
"What?
She smiled – familiar, nervous… And she was blushing.
He turned red as well, still remembered the time she saw he and Etihw almost
kissed. This time she didn't panic or kept apologizing, but…
"Whatever you think, I didn't mean that!",
he shouted, but she ignored his words.
"I think she is like a field of flowers. So sweet
and free, and… And this is her world. She's like a soul of all this places and…
Yeah, something like that."
"What are you talking about, idiot? I'm not…
Wait, what did you say?"
He stopped talking. Oh, she was got point.
"I said…"
"Thanks", he mumbled in rush. He didn't sure
he disturbed her somehow, but didn't care.
And now he needed to go.
Yosafire was just standing in the middle of the
meadow. Still confused, she looked at the flowers in her arms, then at the
place where a few seconds before was the devil.
"What was just happened?"
~*~
Etihw
was on the beach, and she enjoyed calmly waves, when she felt a familiar
presence. She didn't turn around, patiently waiting till his companion came
closer. Silence was strangely uneasy, and that's make goddess to think was
something wasn't right.
Kcalb looked nervous. She was sure of that by the one
look at his face. He was avoided her eyes and was mumbling something without
sens. Oh, and was hiding arms behind his back.
Goddess felt relief. His was acting strange, but in
the good way.
"Do you want anything?", she asked with an
innocent smile.
She couldn't resist teasing him, while he was acting
like that, so she was just keeping glaring at his pale face. The devil,
powerful and capable to destroy all the world if he'll want to, now looked as a
lost, shy child. Oh, and he was kept blushing.
"Here", said Kcalb, putted something into
her arms.
Then he ran away.
Etihw was standing in silence, looking at the
direction he disappeared. She raised her eyebrow. That was
interesting. After all this time, he still was able to surprise her.
She lowed her head. Smirked and took a deep breath to
smell bouquet fresh, field flowers. She's recognized various kind, almost all
growing free in the garden they all living. In their Gray Garden.
Etihw once again felt someone presence. She slowly
turned around, softly hugging flowers to her chest.
"Thanks, Wodahs".
"You're welcome, I guess… I'm never do this
again", answered an angel, crossing his arms.
Etihw was kept smiling.
"You did great. To be honest, I'm surprised
tho", she said tenderly. "I was pretty sure he'll give me red roses,
if at all. You know, that would be simple and safe… But this? So sweet. Maybe I
need more faith".
"Sometimes you are truly cruel goddess",
said angel with grin.
"Yeah… Maybe I am. Especially to him".
However, she was the best they can get. And she
believed Kcalb was a perfect choice too, even if he didn't admit it. Flowers in
her arms was a proof.
The perfect prove how precious his goddess was for him.
